365 [6 Oct 10]

This is the beginning of a tiny painting of the Slogan Sign of Durham. The sign was built in 1913 and lit at Christmas time. Originally it was lit with red, green, amber, and white lights but my painting will just be white. The only information I could find on its fate was that it was toppled by a storm in 1919. The building it was located on top of was demolished years ago and is now the location of the Durham Court building.
